LAURA COHN has always been a creative performing artist. Growing up in Highland Park, IL, she loved to sing, tap dance, play guitar, draw and write stories. When she was in High School, she produced a student variety show for 2 years. Her parents enrolled her in flight training and she became a private pilot at 17. She graduated from Sophie Newcomb College at Tulane University with a B.A. in Political Science. Laura is a singer/songwriter, an author, a certified mediator, a reiki practitioner, and a life coach specializing in healing mother/daughter relationships and core wounds.

Laura began writing music after she graduated college. She pursued her own graphic design/art business in Chicago after working at a media company. Next she moved westward to Colorado in order to focus on her art. Her first performance playing her music at a coffee house in Vail led to a festival booking in Idaho Springs and recording sessions with KBCO’s Studio C in Boulder. Her song “Silver Linings” was played on the station which began her journey as a professional singer/songwriter.

Many performances, live radio shows, air play of her songs on radio stations, community television show tapings and recording sessions brought Laura from Colorado and Arizona to Los Angeles. There she wrote, produced, and performed 2 one-woman shows of her music. Both shows were well received by audiences. In her writing, Laura became aware of how her use of language altered her moods and amplified emotions.

Laura Cohn then developed a program and wrote a book called, "Word Healing: The Art of Reframing Your Life" to help people craft their speech so they can become happier and more confident in fulfilling their true life purpose. Word Healing merges pop spiritual culture, entertainment performing arts, universal healing practices and social kindness to create a magical experience in everyday life. Laura invites other inspirational speakers, artists, performers, healers and writers to join her in presenting live Word Healing Special Events.

Laura Cohn coaches private clients in Word Healing and writes a weekly newsletter through her music website, www.LauraCohnMusic.com, to voice her observations, questions and musings about her life. She is an advocate of social kindness and conveys concepts of awareness through her writing, live performances, and Word Healing presentations. Laura is currently recording a new CD under the artful direction of producer/engineer Robert Eibach at Del Oro Music and producing live Word Healing events in California, USA.
